Neon Dropper — Play Free in Your Browser
Neon Dropper is a free 3D dropper game that runs directly in your web browser — no download, no account required. You control a glowing cyan ball plunging at terminal velocity through a vertical neon shaft. Each floor has cutouts and gaps; your job is to steer through them. Miss the opening and you hit the floor — game over. Make it through every floor and you reach the glowing goal platform at the bottom.

How to Play
The controls are simple to learn but hard to master under pressure:
Mobile: Use the on-screen virtual joystick. Place your thumb anywhere in the lower half of the screen and drag to steer the ball left, right, forward, or back.
Desktop: Use the arrow keys or WASD to steer. Press Escape or P to pause mid-run.
Objective: Stay centred in the shaft, spot the gap in each floor early, and line up your approach before you reach it. The ball falls at a constant speed — you cannot slow down.
Scoring: Complete a level without dying for a 3-star rating. Up to 3 deaths gives 2 stars; anything more gives 1 star. Stars unlock Neon Shards used in the cosmetics shop.
Campaign Mode — 30 Levels
The campaign has 30 handcrafted levels divided across six speed tiers: Freefall, Glide, Cruise, Overdrive, Blitz, and Hyperdrive. Early levels introduce patterns gently — single-slot gates and wide open circles — while later levels combine tight diagonal stripes, compound ring cutouts, and fast corridor sweeps that demand precise split-second reads.
Each level saves a checkpoint as you clear floors, so a well-timed revive (via optional rewarded ad) puts you back below the last floor you passed, not all the way at the top. You can also restart from the top free of charge at any time.
Finishing a level earns Neon Shards: 50 for a perfect 3-star run, 25 for 2 stars, 10 for 1 star. Shards accumulate across all runs and will be spent in the cosmetics shop on ball skins and neon trails — coming in a future update.
Endless Mode — Infinite Fall
Endless mode spawns randomly selected floors from the game's full library of over 150 floor patterns. There is no goal platform — you fall until you hit a floor you cannot thread. The game tracks your floor count as your score and saves your personal best.
Speed escalates through 11 named zones as you clear more floors. The first zone (Freefall) is gentle; by Impossible you are threading gaps at more than twice the starting speed. Zone transitions are announced with a flash of the zone name on screen, and a special toast flashes each time you enter a new zone.
One revive is available per Endless run: watch a short rewarded ad to continue from just below the last floor you cleared. After the revive, no more ad-revives are available for that run — so save it for a good score.
Technical Details
Neon Dropper is built with React 19, React Three Fiber (WebGL), Rapier physics (WebAssembly), and deployed as a Progressive Web App. It runs on any device with a modern browser and WebGL support — phones, tablets, Chromebooks, laptops, and desktops. No install is required; the game streams directly from the server each visit, or can be saved to your home screen as a PWA for offline-capable fullscreen play.
The cyberpunk neon visual style uses bloom post-processing, edge-lit floor geometry, and fully synthesised Web Audio sound effects — no sample files, all generated in real time from raw oscillators.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Neon Dropper free?
Yes, completely free to play. Optional rewarded ads appear when you choose to use a revive; otherwise the game has no interruptions. There are no paywalls, premium tiers, or pay-to-win mechanics.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The game is designed mobile-first in portrait orientation with a virtual joystick. It works on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and any other modern mobile browser with WebGL enabled.
Is it like Minecraft dropper maps?
The core mechanic is the same genre: free-fall through stacked floors and thread the gaps. Neon Dropper is an independent game and is not affiliated with Minecraft, Mojang, or Microsoft.
Can I install it as an app?
Yes. In Chrome or Safari, use your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option to install Neon Dropper as a PWA. It launches fullscreen without browser chrome, exactly like a native app.
